About Integralist.co.uk
What is this site all about?
This site is mainly a place for me to share programming snippets which hopefully others will find useful. But occasionally you‘ll find me musing over Integral Theory and MMA/UFC.
Integralist?
My username is something I adopted from the Integral Theory movement – click here to find out more about Integral Theory and the Integral Institute – it generally means someone who is interested in Integral Theory and to a lesser extent follows the work of philosopher, psychologist Ken Wilber (e.g. the creator of the AQAL framework).
Integral Theory was based on the premise of becoming “Integral” (meaning: comprehensive, inclusive, balanced, not leaving anything out). Again, you can find out more about Integral Theory, AQAL and the Integral Institute here: http://www.integralinstitute.org/
UPDATE: I now understand that there is also a political party known as the Integralists. Let me just make it clear that I had not heard of this party before and I have no interest in them whatsoever. I do not share their views nor do I endorse any of their ideas or opinions.
My Job?
My day job involves managing the Digital Media department of a creative design agency based in the South-East of England. I love client-side technologies such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS and enjoy delving into the server-side with PHP. I’m also lucky enough to work alongside a very talented and passionate team of designers while discussing user interface design, front-end architecture and efficiency, usability testing and accessibility.
Conclusion
If you‘ve read this far then give yourself a pat on the back because you really shouldn’t have. Beyond all of the above I‘m also a licensed kickboxer and practitioner of Ishinryu Karate, fan of all mixed martial arts (including – but not limited to – the many forms of Karate [Ishinryu, Shotokan etc], Brazillian Ju-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wing Chun and Judo) as well as a Zen practitioner.
